Dion, born and bred in Dumfries, moved to Glasgow after school to study at the University of Strathclyde. Following the completion of her undergraduate and post graduate degrees in architecture she returned to Dumfries, initially taking up an internship at The Stove Network. This then led to her assisting with the initial Midsteeple Quarter graphics and consultations. She now works as a chartered architect.

Dion is interested in encouraging more young people to stay and return to the region to help continue the vibrant, diverse and dynamic community. She hopes that the Midsteeple Quarter development will mark a turning point in the regeneration ambitions of the town and region.
