Audrey Clowe, Director

As a Doonhamer, born and brought up in Dumfries, Audrey is acutely aware of the demise of the town centre and has long had concerns about it.

While she understands the challenge of regeneration, she is excited by Midsteeple Quarter’s ambition, and ultimately, by what it might mean for the town centre, which is why she wants to be involved in our community benefit society’s work.

She  retired from the University of Glasgow (Dumfries Campus) towards the end of March 2020, having been employed at the Crichton campus since the University’s arrival in 1999 as Personal Assistant to the Head of School /Director of Campus - a role which game her considerable experience in a wide-range of areas which are directly relevant to Midsteeple Quarter’s work.
