The Smithy

The Smithy has a well-earned reputation as one of the most popular and versatile pop-up spaces in Dumfries. Its “white box” interior makes it easily adaptable for a range of uses - from retail to exhibitions and awareness-raising events. Its all-glass frontage onto the High Street can be used to great effect through windows, while the walls inside can be used for displays with impact. The Smithy building has a proud place in the fabric of Dumfries town centre, both as a shop and, historically, as the site of a blacksmith’s. We are pleased to ensure that it remains in use as plans are pursued for a new future.
