Born in Dumfries - and a resident of the town centre for more than 20 years - Carol was at the forefront of the development of the University of Glasgow’s Crichton campus and served as its Head of School and Director of Campus for eight years until 2022.

An experienced strategic leader at executive and board level, she has managed multi-million pound budgets, large-scale development projects and governance issues.

Carol wants to see Midsteeple Quarter help reverse the decline of the High Street with innovative and sustainable developments which will build a brighter future for the town centre, especially for young people and future generations.

Her academic background in economic and social history allows her to consider social, political and economic drivers for change - all important factors in the work and vision of Midsteeple Quarter.
