Justin, who has lived and worked in Dumfries his whole life, is an enthusiastic supporter of grassroots local projects, particularly those linked to arts and creativity. He has broad experience at board level in the third sector.

With a professional background in health and social care, he worked in youth justice and social work before moving on to adult services, both in housing support and now within equality and diversity as part of the team at Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus. He believes passionately in listening and giving voice to communities, as well as increasing the number of LGBTQ+ safe spaces.

A trained performing artist and creative facilitator, Justin has worked for and as a freelance artist with the Big Burns Supper. He has also supported collaborative projects with other artists and arts organisations. Creativity, our region’s young people and equality are his main focus outside of work.
