Brought up in Sanquhar, and educated at Sanquhar Academy and Dumfries Academy, Robert has had a career as a Chartered Surveyor and has worked in private practice in Dumfries since 1989.

The choice to make a life in Dumfries was engendered by a love of the town and of the quality of life that is available in this beautiful area.

During his career he has been involved with the construction, maintenance and alteration of buildings in Dumfries and Galloway. He was excited to be involved in a small way with the process of acquisition of the Midsteeple Quarter buildings thus far. Now (mostly) retired, Robert is keen to support the MSQ as they are making a real and substantial difference to the town centre, and not just talking about it.
