Becoming a director of Midsteeple Quarter

The directors of Midsteeple Quarter are appointed by the membership to sit on our Board to oversee our community benefit society’s work. Each brings with them different life and professional experiences so that a broad range of voices, viewpoints and expertise are available to turn residents’ vision to breathe new life into Dumfries town centre into reality.

How to apply

We are always looking to ensure that our Board - which is made up entirely of volunteers - has the appropriate blend of skills and experience.

Anyone interested in joining can submit an expression of interest form to the Board for consideration. New directors are voted on by our membership at our Annual General Meeting. The Board meets every eight weeks. Where required, directors also sit on working groups to support particular projects or workstreams.

We continue to work towards more diversity and inclusion on our Board, both to ensure that a cross-section of our community is represented and to create opportunities for people to be involved in creating a better, stronger more sustainable future for our High Street. Board members are expected to adhere to our code of conduct. We aim to have an open, constructive and supportive Board. Discussion can be robust but must be respectful.

Office bearers are elected by members of the Board of Directors from among their number.

More details about joining our Board - and other volunteering opportunities with Midsteeple Quarter - can be obtained by emailing info@midsteeplequarter.org.
